“The experience itself was really good! Beautiful scenery! We got to climb one more base as was planned. Wasn’t easy to reach even harder to get down but totally worth the view. Guide seemed to be new to this. He seemed not to care much about the less fit group members. We as a leading group completely left others behind. When descending group was totally separated. And everyone was pretty much on its own”

He also made sure to take frequent breaks for our group to make sure everyone was ok - that altitude is more difficult than you may think! Bring something to cover your mouth! The ground looks like sand, but it's ash and it does get kicked up just by walking, so you end up breathing a lot of it in.”

“Our guides and driver were great! Helped us go slow, get the pacing right so that we didn't really get altitude sickness. The hike didn't gain as much elevation as I thought - which was a good thing because even though we hike at home, we were not used to this elevation. The team really took care of us including lunch after the hike and I really appreciated having them as our guides.”

“We had a lot of fun, we requested a private tour but when we got picked up we saw other people on the tour with us. Initially we were put off by this but once we arrived and started the tour the group ended up being filled with fun and friendly people so we enjoyed it very much and even had a pic-nic next to the lagoon where we all shared our food with each other. The place was magnificent, the guide Ruben is a really nice person and he shared a lot of nice stories and info about the crater. Be ready for a hike.”
